Analysing Engagement in Naturalistic Music Using EEG

  • Analysed EEG data sets through statistical analysis and developed AI models to isolate key features of music, correlating them with their impact on human emotions.
  • Under the guidance of neurologist Dr Swati Jeh created an interactive web application "NeuroHarmony", where the above data analysis was used to deduce the neurological effects of different genres of music and offer music therapy recommendations based on scientific evidence.
  • Awarded the CREST Gold Award from the British Science Association

Understanding the Neuroscience of Play - The impact of play on brain development

  • Investigated the brain regions associated with social cognition, emotional regulation, and executive function, emphasising how play shapes neural circuits and enhances neuroplasticity
  • Selected for publication by the Curieux Academic Journal, April 2025, (Pages: 319-330)

Researcher, iCrest Academy, Bangalore

Effectiveness of herbal formulation as a complementary and alternative medicine for cancer therapy

  • Investigated the cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory effects of Herbal Formulation 2 (HF2) on cervical cancer cells
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a wide range of advanced cell culture techniques, including thawing and trypsinisation, thus ensuring the proper maintenance and growth of cervical cancer cell lines
  • Conducted cell growth kinetics studies, meticulously monitoring and analysing cell proliferation over time
  • Engaged in gene expression studies, gaining a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms influenced by HF-2 in the downregulation of inflammation (as observed by a reduction in Cox-2 levels in PCR)
  • Carried out Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate-polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) to analyse protein expression and verify the presence of specific proteins of interest

Research Intern - Molecular & Computational Biology, Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi

May - June 2024
  • Gained in-depth understanding of the central dogma of molecular biology and techniques involved in recombinant DNA Technology
  • Studied the computation tools used to retrieve gene and protein sequences, perform sequence homology, and design PCR primer
  • Conducted important microbiology laboratory procedures, including isolating plasmid DNA from bacterial culture, using restriction enzymes and performing PCR, SDS PAGE, RNA and DNA isolation, gel electrophoresis and Bradford's analysis
  • Gained knowledge of bioinformatics and several key databases relevant in the field of microbiology
